I am a writer whose favourite genres include fantasy, steampunk and science fiction. I'm also an artist who works in a variety of traditional mediums, but mostly watercolour, gouache, coloured pencil and acrylics. By day, I'm a lecturer, tutor and PhD in IT/HCI.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, playing video games and hanging out with my dog.

I'm not sure how regularly I'll post to this blog. Aside from writing progress updates, it's also somewhere I can ramble about general issues that affect me as a writer, artist and teacher, but that latter part means I often don't have as much time to write as I'd like.
If and when I manage to finish my novel and start taking serious steps to get it published, I may consider transferring this blog to a more 'professional' site (or even just integrating it with my art blog on WordPress), but for now, Blogger has everything I need to facilitate my occasional rants.
